A couple of people have asked me recently about how I remember all the things I see on my travels.
Well, I don’t have a magic formula or a photographic memory (or good bowling skills. I got a 66 this weekend). It’s a simple answer, really.
I pregame with my handy guide book to get the big picture. Then, when I’m at these places, I make sure to read all the little historical markers that most folks just pass by. I take a notebook with me and try to jot down the important details to trigger my memory when I’m back at home. I also grab the free fliers. I take lots of pictures, and if there is a display with a lot of information, then I just take a picture of the sign, although it makes me look like a huge tourist-dork when I do it. Then, I also use good old Google to try to fill in the gaps in the story as needed. And lastly, the key really, is an overactive imagination that loves adventures, especially when they’re true.
So, everything I’ve said in the blog is intended to be historically accurate, but just take it with a grain of salt. My goal is simply to weave a story and tell a tale, and my hope is that you enjoy the journey and learn something along the way.
Cheers folks,
Will
Current favourite British word: ‘Infant’ meaning pre-school age kids: i.e. “I must take Reginald to Infant School.”
Here are some random, latent pictures from last weekend in London.

Hi Will:
Keep the blog going - there are many more readers than commenters! I was curious how you got all your facts into the stories - now I know.
Cheers and Love, Dad
